Feedback to the EU Commission – Draft Regulation and Annex Concerning Pest Surveys and Reporting

Our feedback welcomes the European Commission’s proposal to strengthen the Union framework on pest surveys, reporting, and outbreak prevention as a timely and necessary response to mounting challenges from climate change, global trade intensification, and invasive species. We affirm that an effective pest management system must be deeply integrated into the EU’s broader digital ecosystem—leveraging trusted infrastructures like the Digital Product Passport (DPP), electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI), and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)—to ensure interoperability, transparency, and resilience.
